In my professional career, I have had the opportunity to demonstrate how unique and diverse the accounting profession can be. My involvement with the AICPA Town Hall for technical topics as a guest speaker and Q&A monitor allowed me to be responsive on the AICPA’s behalf to members when economic recovery programs were rolled out via resource development and information sharing.

The AICPA Town Halls have evolved as a way to stay connected with the profession. As a member of Firm Services, I’ve connected with hundreds of firms through our networking groups and firm initiatives that highlight the varying needs of firms. During the 6 years of my tenure, I’ve been able to contribute to the resource creation of diverse, meaningful topics. From the development of a cybersecurity toolkit to the current Technical Issues Committee (TIC) liaison, I’ve had a chance to play a role in many facets of the profession.

What are you doing to make a difference in the profession, your community, the world?

Like everyone, so many experiences have shaped my life. In addition to the time I dedicate to the profession outside of my official work role, I believe in making a difference by sharing your passions. As an avid dog lover, I volunteer with a local golden retriever rescue for fundraising events and fostering dogs. From my years of experience with my younger brother with autism, I support the NC Autism Society. While I continue to come to terms with my own anxiety disorder and the impact of mental health on my life, I speak out on mental health awareness.
